Tipsy Tuesday – Winterfest Anchor Clanker (my entry into an Absolut contest)

Absolut Cocktail ContestSoooooo…. I decided to enter a cocktail competition and I didn’t realize just how much work it was going to take. Creating the cocktail was the easy part. Now, getting people to vote on my cocktail is such a challenge! So here’s the deal. We have this thing every year in South Florida called the Winterfest Boat Parade. It’s where a bunch of people with boats, decorate their boats and cover them in lights then drive them down the inter coastal – a holiday parade on water. It draws lots of people and is something many look forward to as part of their holiday tradition.

One of the big sponsors is Absolut Vodka. They encouraged local bartenders from surrounding establishments to submit their own Absolut Vodka creation. The winning cocktail will be featured during the Winterfest Boat Parade. We manage a plot in our community garden where we get many of our herbs for our bar at Kapow! I decided to capitalize on these. So with a little playing around I came up with an Asian styled cocktail. We have to use the word ‘Winterfest’ in our name so we came up with the name Winterfest Anchor Clanker.

There’s a lot of things that go in to the judging of the cocktail but the first round is solely judged by peoples choice (also read as the most votes)! The top 3 then move on to round 2 where the judges take into consideration the flavor, presentation, name, use of ingredients and other things. I have until this Saturday (November 30th) to get as many votes as possible.  If you’re still reading this I ask that you take a sec and vote for me via this link: http://bit.ly/1i1TioO

I know I’ll make the first round but the cocktail that gets the most votes gets to host the second round at their establishment. Now I would LOVE for us to win the first round so that round 2 is at Kapow. Thanks in advance for you votes!
