Let me take a moment to introduce you to our children… Meet Maddox and Andi, our 8 year old (ish) male Chocolate Lab and 9 month old female Great Dane.
So they may not be our flesh or blood and they definitely shed a lot more, but nonetheless they are our children in the fullest sense. They beg for food, keep us up all night, demand our attention, tease, torment and fight with each other, and fart… A lot! See… it’s exactly like having children. From what I can tell, the only difference is, you can’t keep you children in a crate while you’re away at work all day. We will most likely have kids some day (I just have to figure out how to transition from crate training to baby training), but for now, this is our world and we are enjoying every moment of it.
Vaughan and I have always been avid animal lovers and are very in tune with our dogs. We pay attention to their nutrition, stay on top of their health and enjoy their comic routines. While nothing makes our days better than coming home to these two furballs of energy (except for the times when we come home to dug up potted plants, shredded rugs and money and a chewed up remote), we have definitely had an education on what it takes to keep these animals happy and healthy. We will share with you are stories and woes and hopefully be able to share some information about animal happiness and health along the way.
